Modified Nikaidoh procedure for transposition of great arteries: experience at Colombia
Objective: To describe the experience with modified Nikaidoh procedure for transposition of great arteries at Colombia.
Methods: Descriptive study. A review of the clinical history in patients with modified Nikaidoh procedure for transposition of great arteries.
Results: Six patients were treated with modified Nikaidoh procedure for transposition of great arteries, between January 2006 and November 2008. Five patients were male, the median age was 1 year and 6 months (0.9-9) and median weight was 6.9 kg ( 4.7-11). The table 1 shows the pre and post-surgery characteristics.
Conclusions: The Modified Nikaidoh procedure for transposition of great arteries is a safe alternative for managing patients diagnosed with TGA, VSD and PS.
